Enormous, two-handled cups of rich, creamy latte and deliciously indulgent orange cake with white chocolate. An expensive treat, but quite irresistible. <br /> <br />Tesco has six breakfast items for £1.49, often a little on the limp and greasy side, and nearly always cold by the time you slide your tray along to the till. <br /> <br />Tesco's 'ripe and ready to eat' avocados come in packs of two. Generally, one has the consistency of soap, while the other is full of deep and disturbing black bruises. <br /> <br />Waitrose sells 'perfectly ripe' white peaches that are exactly that. Intensely sweet, wickedly juicy and with that lovely, slightly scented flavour. I <em>know </em> I should worry about food miles, but sometimes it's just so hard to be good. <br /> <br />Clearly I'm becoming a food snob. <br /> <br />On the other hand, Tesco does have 28" widescreen TVs with Nicam stereo and NTSC playback for under £200 - and decent bikinis for a fiver. It's restless out there, all grey skies and wind-battered trees, and it's not doing a great deal for my mood. I'm sitting at the computer supposedly getting on with some writing, but this seems a far easier way to pass the time. <br /> <br />This Blog format feels rather different from Live Journal. Less of a popularity contest and more of a genuine journal space, perhaps? That's certainly how I intend to use it. I'm also yearning for something a little less anonymous - more London based and rooted in real life, rather than a by-product of my writing which always seems to lead to friendships with people who live thousands of miles away. <br /> <br />With this in mind I'm off to link myself to London Bloggers.
